I'm a Celebrity - Who's in?
Posted 26/09/2016 by BrightHouse Team
There’s always an interesting mix of celebrities, from the famous to the… not so famous, but there are definitely some exciting names flying around this year. Here’s our pick of the rumour and speculation for I’m a Celebrity 2016:
This would be the headliner! Nigel would be a hugely entertaining addition to the jungle, and would no doubt be the source of many disagreements among the celebs. There are also probably quite a few people who’d like to see him covered with poisonous spiders, rats, snakes and other creepy crawlies, but as he’s previously said there was ‘no way’ he’d be taking part, it’s probably just wishful thinking. But with rumours of six figure offers from ITV, you never know.
Carol’s appearance on the show was rumoured on ITV’s Good Morning Britain by presenter Richard Arnold. As a good friend of the former Countdown star, he revealed that it was something they’d talked about and that she would be interested if the offer came up. Apparently he texted her to confirm, but hasn’t heard back. We think it’s a definite possibility though, so watch this space
The Olympic gymnast recently dropped a pretty big hint about appearing on a show after Rio 2016, saying “I have a meeting when I get back about a potential show. You guys will probably have a field day with it, but I am looking forward to it. It’s something I have wanted to do for a long time.” Having previously appeared on, and won, Strictly Come Dancing in 2012, he seems a likely candidate for entering the jungle this year.
After being thrown off the show within 24 hours last year for taking steroids, this muscled Geordie Shore star looks set to return after reportedly staying in touch with the production team, and saying he wants to ‘make it up’ to his family and fans. He’s apparently been working hard all year to change his ways, and it seems very likely that he’ll reappear on the show to try and redeem himself.
This former Girls Aloud singer is appearing in a tour of the musical adaptation of Ghost, but interestingly there’s a three-week gap in the timetable that lines up with the I’m a Celebrity airing schedule. She previously revealed that she’d love to give the series a try, providing it didn’t involve ‘eating horrible things’, which may be a sticking point as that’s at least 80% of the show.
I’m a Celebrity bosses have been trying to get the former footballer to sign up for the show for years, but they seem especially confident this year. Robbie has been a regular on football pundit sofassince his retirement from Leicester City in 2011, but has also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing. He’s a close friend of I’m a Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec, who would no doubt also love to see him take part in the Bushtucker Trials.
Perhaps the most unusual potential addition, Conrad Murray was famously sentenced to four years in prison for the accidental manslaughter of Michael Jackson. He’s spent two of those four years locked away, and it was confirmed by his publicist in July that he was in talks to appear on this year’s I’m a Celebrity. We can only imagine how he would fit in with the other celebs, but we can be certain that it will be interesting.
