Get Fit with Xbox One

Keeping fit can be a bit of chore. Not everyone finds it easy to build up the enthusiasm for getting sweaty at the gym, or to throw on a pair of shorts to dodge traffic and dog-walkers on an early morning run.
Many of us would rather stay indoors and fire up the Xbox for some gaming fun, but you can actually get fit and stay at home thanks to the great selection of fitness and sports games available on Xbox One.
This game is actually free with an Xbox Live Gold membership (12 months included in our Xbox One Bundle), and provides a selection of workouts with a built-in personal trainer experience. The game brings together a selection of fitness gurus such as Jillian Michaels and Tony Horton to give you personalised workout routines that adapt to your progress and performance as monitored through the clever Kinect system. It can even monitor your heart rate and energy levels as you exercise, encouraging you to keep up your effort throughout each workout.
Kinect Sports Rivals
This latest version of the Kinect Sports series from Xbox allows you to take part in a selection of sporting events, including wake racing, bowling, climbing, target shooting, and many more. The Kinect system means you control everything in the most intuitive and natural way possible, the sensor picking up even the smallest details of facial expressions and hand or finger movements. It even scans you to create a detailed digital version of you in the game! The different sports will have you moving around in all sorts of ways, getting you up of the sofa and having a workout without even knowing it.
Zumba Fitness World Party
If you’re looking for something a bit more exotic then you could try this dance fitness game using the Latin dancing program, Zumba. The game features more than 40 high-energy routines in over 30 different dance styles, with a great soundtrack to get your feet moving, and you can set yourself fitness goals and earn rewards to keep you motivated. The World Tour mode lets you travel to different locations to dance alongside some of the top Zumba instructors, including the man who invented it, Beto Perez himself.
Just Dance 2014
Another one for those who like to have fun as they exercise, Just Dance 2014 is the ultimate dancing workout and party game. The game features music from a host of popular artists such as Lady Gaga, One Direction, Katy Perry, and Rihanna, with lots of different difficulty levels and dance routines. The different gameplay modes include On-stage, which puts one player in a lead role while two others do backup routines, and Party Master Mode, which allows a player to use Xbox SmartGlass to change the rules, current song, or moves for up to four other players. There’s also a Just Sweat mode that tracks calories burned during your dance, so is perfect for doing a workout. The Xbox One version also allows up to six players to dance at once!
