What are Fast Track applications?
Fast Track is our new, quick and simple application process, which is available when we are able to electronically verify your income using data from a credit bureau. For customers who qualify for Fast Track, we will still complete thorough creditworthiness and affordability checks – but we won’t need you to provide as many documents.
As a new customer, if you are eligible for credit and qualify for Fast Track, the only documents you need to bring with you to store to complete your application are:
- Proof of identity – ideally a driving licence or passport.
- Proof of address – ideally a utility or council tax bill

If you are an existing customer and qualify for Fast Track, we won’t need to see any additional documentation to complete your next application in store as long as there haven’t been any changes in your circumstances since we last processed an application for you. Change of circumstances includes things like:
- Change in job
- Change in number of working hours
- Change of address
- Change of marital status
- Change in number of dependents
This excludes any insurance documentation, so if you do not purchase cover with us, we would still need to see proof of contents insurance. We will attempt to inform you when you may be eligible for the Fast Track application service. We will do this by phone, text or email, if you have opted to receive marketing messages from us. Or just phone or drop into your local store.
What if I do not qualify for Fast Track?
If for some reason we can't Fast Track your application, you will need to provide proof of income so that we can complete some affordability checks. Acceptable proof of income include:
- Bank statements for the two most recent months (if your income is paid into your bank account),
- Most recent Post Office account statement (if your income is paid into a Post Office account),
- Two most recent pay slips, or
- Benefits letters
New customers will also have to provide: one document to prove your identity, ideally a driving licence, passport or debit card, and one document to prove your address, ideally a bank statement, mortgage or rent confirmation, or household bill.

How does Fast Track work?
Fast Track verifies your income electronically using data from a credit bureau. . This means that, providing your circumstances have not changed, you won’t have to provide us with documentary proof of income. This helps speed up the process of taking out a new agreement with us.
If your circumstances have changed since your last agreement was taken, you may need to provide proof of income and expenditure. You can check by calling or popping into your local store
How does Fast Track affect my credit history?
The Fast Track process does not affect your credit rating. However, we will also conduct a credit search as part of your application and this can impact your credit rating. You can request a copy of your credit report, at a cost of £2 each, from:

How does the Fast Track application process benefit me?
Fast Track should save considerable time when you take out a new agreement, as some of the affordability checks we need to do to ensure we lend responsibly will be automated, reducing the need for time-consuming manual checks.
Will I always be able to use Fast Track?
We aim to update our automated affordability checks at least once a month to ensure we have the most up to date information. This may mean that you are eligible for Fast Track one month, but may not be in another, or vice versa.
We may need to review additional proofs of income and expenditure if your circumstances have changed since you took out your last agreement.
Can I check if I can use Fast Track before I go to store?
Yes you can! If you are an existing customer you can call your store, and they will be happy to let you know if you qualify for the Fast Track application service, and what documentation you need to bring with you.
Can I still take out an agreement if I cannot use Fast Track?
Absolutely! Fast Track is just a way to help simplify the application process. If for some reason we can't Fast Track your application, you will need to provide a proof of income, such as your two most recent bank statements if you have a bank account. If you are not an existing BrightHouse customer, you will also need to provide one document to prove your identity and one document to prove your address.
