Local area info
Gravesend is a town on the south bank of the Thames estuary in Kent, just 20 miles from the centre of London. It is an ancient town with evidence of people living in the area since the Stone Age. It's also home to one of the oldest markets in the UK, as well as the grave of the famous Pocahontas somewhere beneath St George's church. Gravesend Town Pier is the oldest surviving cast iron pier in the world, and the clock tower on Harmer Street was built for Queen Victoria in 1887, based on the design of Big Ben.
The BrightHouse Gravesend store is located in the Thamesgate Shopping Centre, easily accessible from New Road in the middle of town. The centre also has a car park located on Clive Road, or there are local bus services which connect on Garrick Street just off New Road. Gravesend railway station is also nearby on Clive Road.
