Local area info
Chesterfield is an historic market town in Derbyshire, and the second largest settlement in the county after Derby. The town started life in Roman times as fort, with a village later growing on the site. The word 'caester' means Roman fort. The town's most famous landmark is the Church of Saint Mary and All Saints with its Crooked Spire. The spire is dramatically twisted and leaning to one side, said to be caused by the heating of the lead tiles and a lack of proper internal support, though there are many local legends too.
The Chesterfield BrightHouse store is on Burlington Street in the main shopping area of the town, just down the street from the Crooked Spire. It's easily accessible via public transport, with bus stops for local routes all around the centre of town, and Chesterfield railway station less than 10 minutes' walk away. For drivers there is pay and display parking nearby on Station Road, as well as throughout the town centre.
