At BrightHouse we are committed to positively contributing to the environment and its overall sustainability. We actively recycle and are widely acknowledged within the industry for our efforts, resulting in us picking up top awards. To reduce our eco-footprint we have implemented a number of recent initiatives, designed to reduce the impact we have on the wider environment
Quality Refurbished Items
We now provide the opportunity for our customers to trade in and return their unwanted products at any point during their credit agreement. These products are offered for resale as Quality Refurbished items after a thorough MOT-style review by our engineers. Products which are returned but which are no longer fit for resale are broken down and cannibalised for spare parts. Any remaining parts and residue are processed extensively for recycling.
We stock an extensive range of environmentally-friendly products (as recognised by the Energy Saving Trust) with 100% of our washing machines and dryers achieving this standard.
Redundant IT Equipment
We adopt a similar approach for our redundant internal IT equipment, in order to minimise the impact on the environment of potentially environmentally unfriendly waste.
Whenever possible, the major packaging constituents of our products – cardboard, paper, plastics and polystyrene are taken back to our National Distribution Centre, compacted and passed to recycling businesses for processing. We aim to have zero landfill, with our service centres having already achieved this.
Supporting WEEE Recycling Centres
We actively support the national network of Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling centres established by local authorities. This is achieved through membership of the national Distributor Take-back Scheme (DTS).
